United Way of the National Capital Area has been working for nearly 50 years to lead a coalition of 500 partners, including nonprofits, corporate and community organizations, to improve opportunities for millions of residents.
ENGAGEMENT
Implementation of a new, long-term strategic plan with the goal of enhancing the organization’s brand awareness by promotion of programmatic work resulting in an increase in stakeholder involvement and greater public awareness.
MEASURE OF SUCCESS
The five-year Community Commitment strategic-plan focused on three core areas: mobilizing resources, building stronger communities, and thought-leadership development. The overall strategic goal of serving 112,000 residents by 2020 was surpassed by a total of more than 327,000 residents served with life-saving resources achieved by increased amplification of these services by the media and community stakeholders.
